Wednesday, June 25th, 2008: Colorado Closer Will Miss 1-2 Weeks
Dealing with injuries is part of the game, and now Manny Corpas of the Rockies knows this firsthand. He was injured against the Oakland Athletics while throwing a pitch. Diagnosed as a tender elbow, the Colorado closer is expected to miss 1-2 weeks. Corpas was a little upset, but understands it comes with the territory. "There is nothing I can do now. You try to be careful, but no matter how careful you are, injuries happen."

To this point in the year Corpas has put up a 1-4 won-lost mark, made 27 relief appearances and rung up 13 saves. He has a 2.97 ERA and has allowed 33 hits over his 33.1 innings of work, struck out 29 batters and walked 17.
