| Breaking News |  | Friday, August 8th, 2008: 5-Hits Blitz by Lowell The Red Sox whipped the Rays 17-0 at Fenway Park II and Mike Lowell had a big hand in the win. The Red Sox third baseman came to the plate 6 times and collected 5 hits. It was a good day for Lowell and a tough day for Tampa Bay.
"I just go up there and whale away and hope it hits the barrel of the bat," he said. "There really isn't any plan."
Plan or not, Lowell delivered today -- 5-6 is outstanding in any league.
