Tuesday, August 5th, 2008: White Sox Shut Out Royals, Danks Winner
In an impressive outing, John Danks whitewashed the Kansas City Royals 10-0.

"I'm getting a lot more downward movement instead of side to side. That side-to-side stuff can get hit a long way," said Danks, who is throwing with more of an overhand motion.

"It's not rocket science. It was just a little adjustment, but that's all it took."

The Chicago (A) hurler held Kansas City scoreless, allowed 2 hits, chalked up 5 strikeouts and yielded 2 walks.

This season Danks has worked 125.1 innings with 96 strikeouts en route to a 6-6 record and a 5.67 ERA.
Monday, August 4th, 2008: Grudzielanek Gets Number 2000!
It was a great day for Mark Grudzielanek of the Kansas City Royals -- but not a perfect day.
He became the latest player to reach the 2000-hit mark, but his team lost the game.
The 38-year-old second baseman got his historic hit in Kansas City's 9-4 loss to Chicago (A).

"It was a very special game for me, but not a good one for the team," said Grudzielanek after the game. Commenting on his achievement to reporters, he told them, "2000 hits are a lot. It puts you in a very select group. You have to hit well over a lot of seasons to do this. It's a good feeling to have your name in the record books with the other guys who have reached this level."

He finished the day with 3 hits in 5 at-bats.

A check of his lifetime stats shows Grudzielanek has a career .289 average with 2002 hits, 387 doubles, 38 triples, 88 home runs and 641 RBIs. To date he has scored 936 runs, walked 354 times and stolen 131 bases.
Monday, May 5th, 2008: AL Presents Player of the Week Trophy
It was a sweet day for Eric Hinske of the Kansas City Royals, who found out he has been named the American League Player of the Week.

The Royals first baseman put up a solid .565 average and contributed 1 home run and 4 RBIs to claim the honors.

This year Hinske is hitting .283 with 1 home run and 12 RBIs to his credit. He has gotten on base at a .347 clip and scored 13 runs.
