| Breaking News |  | Friday, June 20th, 2008: Dillard Whips Iowa Tim Dillard of the Nashville Sounds was masterful today, pitching a 4-hit 2-0 shutout against the Iowa Cubs and giving his bullpen a rest by going the the distance.
According to his manager, "He had command of every ball and every pitch . . . great location, too." Dillard had 5 strikeouts and issued no walks in an impressive outing.
This year Dillard has worked 102.1 innings with 53 strikeouts en route to a 7-6 record and 3.61 ERA. |  | Monday, June 16th, 2008: Lansford: Big Hit in the Pacific Coast League! The Pacific Coast League made it official today: Josh Lansford is the Player of the Week.
He really sparkled on the diamond this week with a .619 average to take home the trophy. The Iowa third baseman went 13-21, drove in 1 runs, scored 4 times and hit no home runs.
Batting .301 to date, Lansford has 5 home runs and 22 RBIs. |  | Sunday, June 15th, 2008: Nashville Wins, Blanks Cubs "He was too darn good for us today," grumbled the Iowa manager after his club suffered a 13-0 shutout at the hands of Tim Dillard of the Nashville Sounds. He held the Iowa Cubs scoreless in a 3-hit whitewash.
Dillard was in a zone of his own most of the game and finished with 2 strikeouts and 1 walk in a strong outing.
In a postgame quote his own skipper added, "He pitched his butt off, had good velocity, good movement and had those guys off balance. Tim did a whale of a pitching job."
