| Breaking News |  | Sunday, August 10th, 2008: Drew Tags Astros 5 Hits Stephen Drew had an answer for everything the Houston Astros threw him today in the Arizona 15-4 triumph at Chase Field. He made good contact 5 times and 5 times he drilled the ball for a base hit.
The Arizona shortstop went 5 for 5 in the game to put his name in the record book.
Summing up his batting philosophy to SION writers after the game, Drew said, "I just see the ball and I hit it."
S. Drew doubled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, doubled in the 4th, hit a two-run single in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off J. Valverde in the 8th.
This year Drew is hitting at a .255 pace with 8 home runs and 43 RBIs. He has played in 105 games and scored 43 times. |  | Saturday, July 19th, 2008: Haren Guns Down Brewers It was a razor-sharp performance by Dan Haren of the Arizona Diamondbacks against the Milwaukee Brewers. He fashioned a fine 1-hitter in blanking them 1-0 and chalked up 10 strikeouts and no walks.
Currently Haren has a 4-7 won-lost record in 19 starts with a 3.48 ERA. He also has 107 strikeouts in 126.2 innings. |  | Saturday, May 24th, 2008: 400 Homers for Jones The Atlanta Braves had something to celebrate today even though they dropped a 6-4 decision to Arizona. The reason -- the splendid slugger Chipper Jones hit his 400th career homer in today's contest at Turner Field.
"I'm fortunate to be here," Jones told the media after the game. "The Braves have a classy organization and some great fans. Homer #400 was for them."
