 | Friday, August 15th, 2008: Beltre Bashes 5 Base Hits Adrian Beltre exploded for a barrage of base hits today at Safeco Field. The Seattle third baseman had a field day in the 17-14 triumph over the Texas Rangers, finishing up with a 5-7 day and a spot in the league record book. "My hitting philosophy is pretty simple," he said. "I focus on just seeing the ball and I try to get a good pitch." Well, Beltre must have focused at least 5 times and apparently got some good pitches, too. It was one of his best days ever with the bat. A. Beltre doubled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 6th, grounded out in the 7th, struck out in the 10th and hit an RBI single in the 11th. Hitting .265 to date, Beltre has 9 home runs and 54 RBIs. He has played in 115 games. |
